Tomáš Souček’s impressive performances during his loan spell at West Ham United in the second half of the last season convinced the Hammers to sign the Czech Republic international from Slavia Prague on a transfer permanent in the summer.
The midfielder has been a vital figure under David Moyes in this calendar year and his fine displays has garnered attention from Bayern Munich.
Czech sports channel ČT Sport had an opportunity to interview the midfielder, where the West Ham star revealed he hasn’t held talks with any other club.
The 25-year-old is also delighted how his former club have been able to cope despite them losing several of their players over the years.
Souček admitted he and his West Ham teammates are aware about Slavia forward Abdallah Sima, who has impressed this season, scoring 11 times and managing one assists in 17 appearances in all competitions.
“From what I see, I have to say, I’m excited about him. His goals are very much simialr to what I’ve been scoring. I’m glad that such a player was found, but it’s not just about that. He shows one-on-one qualities, finishing, just a typical winger,” Souček said about Sima.
“I have to say that the guys or the media around West Ham know about him. I would only be happy if another player from Slavia came, but it is still far away. He’s still a young player and he has to prove it. But a lot of people know about him and notice him. Only good for him.”
Meanwhile, Slavia president Jaroslav Tvrdík was quoted as saying by iSport.cz that a ‘top European club’ have already tabled a €10m bid for Sima.
Tvrdík refused to provide any details about the club who made the offer, but he stressed selling Sima in January is not on Slavia’s agenda.
