Maxwel Cornet could never quite prove himself during his time at West Ham.
He was loaned out to Southampton in the last summer window and then loaned out to Genoa in the January as the Hammers tried to find somewhere he could excel.
The Frenchman is currently injured but has impressed for the Italian side, scoring twice and assisting once under compatriot Patrick Vieira.
Tuttomercatoweb have looked at the winger’s situation, stating that he has made a ‘significant impact’ at Genoa and this is making the Italian side consider keeping him beyond this season.
Cornet had joined the club on a six-month loan deal but the outlet claim that talks can be held with West Ham to potentially renegotiate another move for the upcoming summer market.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers allow another loan for Cornet, considering his good performances.
The 28-year-old has played 37 times in all competitions for West Ham and has scored only once. That is in stark contrast to his stint at Burnley, where he scored nine times in 28 games and also racked up two assists.
