It’s look like the battle for Mexican defender Edson Alvarez is really set to be disputed by West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

First reports said Wolves would be fighting Ajax for the signing. But with news saying the player would rather move to the Premier League, that would give the Molineux side a boost.

However, this week, reports have claimed that besides these two sides, West Ham have also made an official bid for the player. So that’s another English side who would have an advantage.

These claims are now backed up by Billy Escobar, who’s a scouting specialist. He’s referred by Los Pleyers as a man with ‘good sources at America’.

Escobar claims it’s still Wolves who lead the race, although West Ham have been interested as well and have made an offer. He now says Ajax are ‘far’, despite being in the dispute.

It’s said that Alvarez is certainly not staying at America, and it’s ‘very likely’ that he’s moving to the Premier League. So it should now be a matter of who makes the best offer, the Hammers or Wolves.
