Nikola Vlašić joined West Ham United in the summer of 2021 and struggled in his debut with the Premier League side.
The 25-year-old was allowed to join Torino on a season-long loan deal last summer and the latter retain an option to make his stay permanent.
Operating mainly as an attacking midfielder, the West Ham owned man has scored four goals and registered four assists from 25 matches in all competitions this season. He missed the last league clash against Cremonese due to an injury.
The Serie A side face local rivals Juventus in the derby clash later today and the Hammers player will be forced to miss the tie.
This has been confirmed by Torino manager Ivan Jurić when asked about the Croatia international’s injury.
“Vlašić has a problem that will keep him out, he will do new tests to see where we are and plan his future,” Jurić said, as quoted by Numero Diez.
Torino and West Ham have reportedly agreed for €15m redemption fee for the ex-Everton man. Earlier reports had indicated the Italian club intend to buy him after this season.
Vlašić has failed to score a goal or register an assist in the league post the World Cup.
