Manchester City and West Ham are both interested in the Sporting defender Tiago Djaló, according to claims on Monday.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reveals that the player is making hard work of signing a new contract with the Lisbon side, and the Premier League clubs are among the threats to take him away from the Lions.
O Jogo explains that after the difficulty in renewing his contract, Djaló hasn’t been used in the academy games since the start of December, with no apparent reason.
Sporting are offering Djaló a deal until 2023, and are desperate for him to sign, otherwise he can walk for free at the end of the season.
O Jogo writes that Manchester City, West Ham and Lazio have all shown their will to sign the 18-year-old. Contacted by the newspaper, Sporting have claimed they will keep trying to give the teenager a new contract.
