Takvim report West Bromwich Albion remain interested in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, after being linked with him in recent weeks.

Following promotion to the Premier League, West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is keen to strengthen his squad, and Takvim claim he is personally directing the operation to sign his compatriot.

The Croatian coach had a spell as the manager of the Super Lig side and still has connections in Turkey.

It’s been previously reported in the Turkish media that the Besiktas board are keen to part ways with Vida and will look to offload him in this window. The Croatian defender is the highest earner at the club, and the Istanbul side are keen to get him off their wage bill.

Takvim claim the Turkish side are waiting for an offer for Vida, and they won’t stand in the way of the 31 year old leaving before the window closes.

The Croatia international made 38 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions last season, scoring five goals. Vida’s contract at Vodafone Park will expire in June 2022.
