Bruno de Carvalho is finishing his honeymoon, and the Sporting president will now concentrate on selling players including William Carvalho.
Sunday’s edition of Record links Arsenal, Manchester City, and West Brom with the midfielder.
West Brom will understandably be repeatedly linked, given they tried to sign the player last summer, and Tony Pulis has spoken about interest in Carvalho.
Manchester City have been repeatedly linked since Carvalho changed agents to Pere Guardiola, which didn’t seem too significant at the time, however, since the purchase of Girona the Guardiola and City lines are somewhat more blurred.
Arsenal interest is historic, but the Portuguese press throw it in every now and again to raise the drama.
Record have specific instructions on what Sporting expect from an offer. It’s stated that a club needs to put forward €30m, and that must be upfront, in one payment, and not weighted on bonuses.
That’s unlikely to happen, despite Record saying a transfer is ‘probable’ this summer. West Brom would likely be looking around the €20-25m mark, and Manchester City may not be looking at all.
