Italian forward Manolo Gabbiadini has again been linked with a move to the Premier League, after the arrival of Leonardo Pavoletti at Napoli.
Everton, Stoke City, Southampton and Wolfsburg are reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old, and the player is expected to leave in January.
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg were leading the race to sign Gabbiadini in a €20m deal, but it seems they have changed their mind in the past few hours.
Wolfsburg now want to sign the player only on loan, which is something Napoli aren’t interested in. However, it’s been claimed West Brom could make an offer to sign Gabbiadini permanently.
Sky Sports Italia say the situation of Gabbiadini is expected to ‘stay warm’ in the coming hours except if Wolfsburg decide to change their mind again.
Italian website Calciomercato believe Gabbiadini is keen on switching to the Premier League, but Napoli haven’t received an offer yet for the player. The situation is expected to change in the next few days, as Napoli aren’t particularly keen on keeping Gabbiadini at the club and see his value drop in the transfer market.
It would be a gamble for West Brom, especially on a permanent deal, and the potential transfer doesn’t immediately strike as something which would fit with Tony Pulis.
