On Friday Corriere dello Sport published an article on the future of Ivan Strinic. Napoli recruitment could make a transfer likely for the Croatian left-back this summer, and there’s an agent trying to build a deal.

The Italian newspaper reported a middleman has informed Napoli that West Brom and Burnley are keen on the player, and would be prepared to pay up to €9m. At the time, Sport Witness pointed out that West Brom made more sense, largely because Burnley have just signed Charlie Taylor from Leeds United.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport would appear to back that up, with Burnley now completely left out of the reporting. It’s explained that West Brom have joined the race, ahead of Watford and Galatasaray, but behind Zenit.

There’s no mention of Burnley, with Watford just thrown in, Marco Silva’s men positioned in the middle of the chasing pack.

It’s a fluid transfer situation and what Strinic and Napoli really need is some direct offers, rather than an agent suggesting he’s found interest.
