The regional Seville media are going through a crash-course in Gaston Ramirez transfer messes, and being guided by the player’s agent Pablo Betancour.
At first he spoke to the media local to Real Betis and explained a Middlesbrough exit was on the cards, and Betis held an interest. Then, Bentancur talked up a transfer to Betis, saying a move to the club was ‘basically done’.
After reports from France that Nantes are moving in, the Seville media wanted to know what’s going on. How can the agent more than insinuate a transfer to Betis is happening for the Middlesbrough player, and then another club come in?
Well, to get straight to the point: It’s Middlesbrough fault.
Speaking to Estadio Deportivo, Bentancur said: “It was Middlesbrough, who negotiated on their own with Betis without reaching an agreement.”
Estadio Deportivo sound like they’re now getting the measure of Bentancur, and say that whilst Betis were in talks with Middlesbrough, Bentancur was speaking to Freiburg and Nantes.
It’s now believed Nantes have the best chance, but, frankly, absolutely anything could happen.
