Celtic tried to sign Timothy Castagne in January, but the deal didn’t take shape because the Bhoys were unwilling to meet the demands of Atalanta.
The 23-year-old impressed during the second half of the season, which has also helped him become a genuine option for Belgium this year.
Crystal Palace are now linked with the Serie A player, but there are no concrete reports to suggest about the Eagles’ interest, either in Italy, England or Belgium.
Roy Hodgson’s side are dragged in because the player’s father, Pierre Castagne, has responded to supposed rumours linking his son with a move to Selhurst Park.
“Tim has a lot of offers. With his agent, we put it before Timothy and he will choose,” Pierre was quoted as saying by Het Belang van Limburg.
“Crystal Palace? He has always loved English football. Atalanta will play in the Champions League next season, but in the Premier League you have a match every week as if it were in the Champions League. We’ll see.”
Castagne mainly played on the left of midfield last season.
