Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Viktor Gyökeres has opened the door to a move away from the club this summer.

The youngster joined Brighton from Swedish third-tier side Brommapojkarna in January 2018 and has been working his way up at the club since then.

He was a star for the Under 23 side, registering 14 goals and five assists in 31 games and has also played for the first-team, with four appearances in the FA Cup and one in the EFL Cup.

This year he finds himself out on loan at 2.Bundesliga side St Pauli, where he has managed five goals and three assists in 17 games in all competitions.

Those five goals make him the third top goalscorer at the club this season, a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed and is sure to make them keen to keep him around past this summer.

It seems he would be open to that, at least if his latest comments to BILD are anything to go by.

“I love playing here. We’ll see what happens next summer,” he told the newspaper, indicating that there are likely to be talks about his future at Brighton come the summer.

Whether they are to secure another loan spell or perhaps leave the club permanently remains to be seen, although Graham Potter could undoubtedly do with extra firepower.

There is also another reason for him to stay on the South Coast, his girlfriend is Amanda Nilden, who just so happens to play for Brighton in the Women’s Super League.
