In what has been a very well covered transfer to date, Chelsea have signed Kendry Páez from Independiente del Valle in Ecuador.
They did so when he was still 15, meaning they have to wait a few more years before he officially moves to Stamford Bridge, but he is firmly a Blues player.
Now 16, the exciting youngster is simply biding his time before his big transfer to Chelsea, and will continue to develop in his home country, supervised by his agent, Andrea Pellegatti, who works for Epic Sports and spoke to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Since they oversaw the transfers of Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson and Kendra Paez to the London club, the representative was asked directly about the latter, and had almost ran out of superlatives for his client.
He said: “He is one of the rising stars of international football. He has already made his debut in the Copa Libertadores. He is already in the senior national team. Chelsea are active in their recruitment. They have signed him for 2025. We will certainly hear a lot about him.”
With four Ecuador caps to his name and already a goal for his country, the future Chelsea star is also playing regularly for his club, making 30 appearances in all competitions in 2023, scoring five goals and assisting another three.
All the Blues have to do now is wait a year and a half before he arrives, much to the delight of the Stamford Bridge faithful, who will have yet another young star to get behind.
