While he might not be at Leeds United currently, Rasmus Nissen Kristensen, who is on loan at AS Roma, continues to make headlines both in Italy and his home country.
The former because he has yet to make the right-back position at AS Roma his own, and the latter because his country, while qualifying for the Euros thanks to a 2-1 win over Slovenia on Friday, lost 2-0 against Northern Ireland on Monday.
One of the main talking points after the defeat was Kasper Hjulmand’s decision to allow his squad to go out partying on Saturday night, with many in the local press keen to find out if it was the reason for the recent lacklustre performance.
The Leeds man, who took part in the festivities, was keen to emphasise that the two were not related at all, and even described his own physical state following his night out.
He said, relayed by Bold.dk: “I can’t feel it. I don’t know about some of the others. It’s been a few days anyways, but it’s clear that when you qualify for the Euros, you must also be allowed to celebrate, and we did that. But that has nothing to do with our performance (on Monday). I don’t feel we lacked power or energy.”
The Leeds player, who is contracted to Elland Road until 2025, didn’t fancy playing in the Championship this season after last campaign’s relegation from the Premier League.
He quickly sought a move away from Yorkshire, and found a landing spot in Italy with José Mourinho, who has yet to really be overly impressed with what the Dane has had to offer so far.
