A couple of weeks ago, we brought you the news that Watford’s Obbi Oulare was ‘crazy’ about signing for Royal Antwerp in Belgium, happy to leave the Hornets permanently.
The forward spent last season on loan in his home country with the Jupiler Pro League side, where he scored three goals in 16 appearances.
However, according to DH on Monday, the 22-year-old won’t be signing with Antwerp, but with Standard Liege instead.
Oulare was spotted in the Belgian side’s offices on Friday afternoon, and Sunday saw both Watford and the Belgians negotiate the final details of the player’s move, expected to be a loan with a view to buy.
The Hornets’ man will team up once again with Michel Preud’homme, who helped kickstart his career at Club Brugge.
There’s no date set for his arrival, but judging by how advanced the talks were over the weekend, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it happen sometime this week once the player has passed his medical.
