Back in February, Goal France revealed that both Watford and Southampton were interested in FC Nantes’ Ennock Kwateng.
The right back’s contract is set to run out in the summer, and with no desire to renew with the French side, an exit is all but expected.
At 21 years of age, the defender already has a lot of suitors, including the Hornets and the Saintsand competition is expected to be rife in the summer, with the likes of Monaco and clubs from Germany.
While no Bundesliga outfits are named, that league the player’s preferred destination, according to 20 Minutes on Tuesday.
Good friends with Amine Harit, who swapped Nantes for Gelsenkirchen (Schalke) a couple of years ago, Kwateng could be tempted to join him in Germany, snubbing Watford and Southampton in the process.
This means that Javi Gracia and Ralph Hasenhuttl, or whoever is in the negotiation room at the time, will need to be a bit more convincing than first thought if they want to get their man.
One we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on.
