Crotone have been on a ‘mission’ to sign Watford’s Ignacio Pussetto and wanted to take the forward on a loan deal.
Two days ago, we relayed news from Italy the Hornets could allow the 24-year-old to join Udinese if they fail to find an agreement with Crotone.
The Argentine, who arrived at the English club from Udinese in January, failed to start in the Premier League last season. His future could now be away from Vicarage Road.
Udinese suffered a 1-0 defeat against AS Roma on Saturday and after the tie, their manager, Luca Gotti discussed the possibility of Pussetto returning to the club.
“I’m sure the club has good memories of him and he too fondly remembers Udinese. Let’s wait now to see if it will materialise,” the Serie A side’s manager said.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Pussetto is ‘one step away’ from returning to his former club.
Crotone couldn’t find an agreement with the Championship side for the player, and his future is likely to be at Udinese.
Roberto Pereyra left the English club and rejoined Udinese on a permanent deal last month, and as per the report, Pussetto will now follow his compatriot’s footsteps.
TMW states the operation to take the Watford player to Udinese is in its final stretch.
