Javi Gracia was appointed as Watford manager in January 2018 following his spells in Spain, Greece and Russia.
The 48-year-old was at Malaga from 2014 to 2016 and during his time at the club he guided the La Liga outfit to back-to-back top 10 finishes.
In his first season, his side had four points against Barcelona, which included a victory at the Camp Nou, and Malaga were undefeated against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the next campaign.
The Hornets defeated Chelsea last season, while they sealed a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the last fixture before the international break.
Gracia sat down for an interview with El Pais and was asked if he has any formula to help his side clinch points against the top clubs.
He said, “I don’t know if it’s luck or not. These games, in the end, have a lot of repercussions. We played big games against Crystal Palace and Burnley. Beating Tottenham does not change my way of thinking.”
Watford have won the first four matches in the league and Gracia expressed his delight to see the positive feeling in and around the team.
“I will live with the same naturalness to win four games than lose four games. These are the things that are given. What excites me most is seeing the atmosphere we have in the team, in the club and in the fans,” the Spaniard added.
