Watford defender Kiko Femenía is close to a move to Getafe, with the Spanish side ‘rushing’ to get a deal over the line.
That’s according to Marca, who say the player has become available following Watford’s relegation to the Championship last season.
That relegation has seen something of an overhaul at Vicarage Road, with several big-name players all linked with exits from the club.
Femenía is one of them, particularly as he only has a year left on his current contract, and had been linked with a move to Valencia to reunite with former boss Javi Gracia.
However, it appears he will instead be returning to Spain with Getafe, with Marca stating that the defender is ‘about to become’ one of the Azulones (dark blues).
The newspaper offers no information about the deal, for example, a transfer fee or inside knowledge about the negotiations, but does say that Watford’s relegation ‘opens the doors’ for a transfer.
Femenía is not the only imminent arrival at the club, with Moroccan central defender Jawad El Yamiq also set to join from Genoa.
