Watford have approached transfer deadline day with a scattergun approach, and they’re absolutely everywhere.
It all kicked off with an apparent €60m bid for Gonçalo Guedes, followed by a number of other bids being placed around Europe, including a failed attempt at signing Stefano Sturaro from Juventus.
The latest news to come out regarding their bidding comes from France, as Mercato365 claim the Hornets have had a €16.5m bid rejected by Nantes for their forward Emiliano Sala.
The Argentinian has been the centrepiece of the Ligue 1’s attack over the past couple of seasons, scoring 12 goals during the last campaign.
However, Watford aren’t done yet, as the French outlet state there’s a good chance they could come back with a €22m bid in the dying hours of the Premier League’s transfer window.
At this point, we wouldn’t put anything past any English clubs, with many seemingly leaving everything very late despite knowing all summer they would need to sort out their team before the start of the new season.
