Towards the end of September, Watford defender Brice Dja Djédjé did a tour of various outlets in both France and Ivory Coast to slam his current club about the way they were treating him.
Once again not registered for the Premier League this season, the defender wants out from Vicarage Road as quickly as possible, and his desire would be a loan in the January transfer window.
Clearly not in Marco Silva’s plans, the former Marseille right-back is apparently already in contact regarding a return to France, with L’Equipe reporting Lens in Ligue 2 have already approached him about it.
This information came out on Friday, but it seems no one picked up on it, including us, which is why we’re only covering it now.
While a lot of Watford fans probably don’t care all that much what happens to him, considering he hasn’t featured for the club since the 29th of January, we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t relay it.
Contracted to the club until 2020, there’s very little chance of the Ivory Coast international seeing out that deal, and if he can get back on clubs’ radars with a loan, even if it is in Ligue 2, he’ll probably do it in a heartbeat.
