In the past few years, we’ve seen Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo turning into one of the most important players in his country, with his potential creating big expectations around him.

It turns out there’s now another very promising Ecuadorian youngster who’s moving to the Premier League with big attention on him. That’s Kendry Paez, who’s also leaving Independiente del Valle, but to join Chelsea.

A lot is said about the 16-year-old in the local media, and as Caicedo was now interviewed by TV Television (via ESPN), he was quizzed about the future Chelsea player as well.

“Kendry is a crack, watching him play is a pleasure”, said Caicedo.

“It’s good to see these talents in Ecuador. I’m very happy for Kendry, for everything he’s doing, for how he’s working.”

“May he continue on the right path and he will go far. He has talent.”

The Seagulls’ star made it clear he has big belief on Paez, claiming Chelsea are signing a very good player.

Since Paez can only move to Chelsea once he turns 18, it will still take a while until we can see him and Caicedo facing each other in the Premier League.

As the youngster is already playing for Independiente Del Valle’s first team, it’s even possible he can be at the national team before his move to England, and there he could be Caicedo’s teammate.
