With a big game against Tottenham Hotspur coming up in the Champions League, the last thing Eintracht Frankfurt will have wanted is an injury.

Not only that, but an injury to one of their more important players of the season in Ansgar Knauff, who is now a worry ahead of the game on Wednesday.

The player, currently loaned from Borussia Dortmund, has been a regular for the Bundesliga side this season, making 13 appearances in all competitions, picking up one assist.

He played the full 90 minutes against Tottenham last week in the 0-0 draw, and was readying himself to face the London club again.

However, Bild are now reporting that the player ‘left Eintracht’s final training session’ on Tuesday before the game, as he ‘couldn’t continue training’.

The player was ‘visibly broken’, and left while the rest of the team continued to practice.

As of yet, ‘it’s still unclear what Knauff tweaked and what that means’ for the game against Tottenham, but it’s made clear by Bild that him missing the game ‘would be bitter’, especially after he was rested against Bochum at the weekend.
