There’s another update from Argentina on Tottenham Hotspur’s attempts to sign Juan Foyth from Estudiantes. Sources in both Argentina and Italy have reported club president Juan Sebastian Verón is set to travel to close a deal with Spurs to sign the defender.
Veron played with Mauricio Pochettino for the Argentine national team, and those old contacts may well be helping Tottenham complete a deal for the young footballer.
First Veron was expected to fly to England earlier this week to sort out the Tottenham transfer, and then it changed to Friday, changing earlier on Tuesday to ‘today or tomorrow’.
El Dia have an update on Tuesday afternoon, stating Foyth ‘will be transferred to the English club for a sum close to €10m and the Witch (Veron’s nickname) is in charge of closing everything with a lightning trip.’
However, they also go back on their timing, now saying that Veron flew to London last night to meet with Tottenham and close the Foyth deal, as the Estudiantes squad went to Bolivia.
