Less than a week ago, we covered an interview from Mundo Deportivo with Jean-Michaël Seri and the interest of both Arsenal and Tottenham in the Ivory Coast international.
Currently contracted with Nice in Ligue 1, the 25-year-old midfielder has admitted multiple times he dreams of a move to Barcelona, yet the Catalan newspaper claimed both Spurs and the Gunners were leading the race for his signature.
While that might have been true at the time, Nice Matin in France reveal on Wednesday that the odds have changed, and Barcelona are now the favourites to sign him.
According to the local newspaper, the player’s entourage have been in talks with Barcelona recently, who now ‘have a head start’ on the other suitors.
Nice Matin also mention that Arsenal and Tottenham appreciate what Seri has to offer, while Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and AS Roma in Italy are all also interested.
As for how much he would cost, Nice’s president has made it clear the Ligue 1 side don’t need to sell, and he won’t leave for less than the €40m ‘clause’ in his contract.
With no offers reaching them as of yet, the French club seem pretty relaxed about it all.
Still, if Barcelona make their interest official, you can bet Seri will be pushing for it to happen.
