Sabah’s Galatasaray journalist Mehmet Ozcan has spoken to Sporx TV about the future of Garry Rodrigues.
The Cape Verde international has been linked with Newcastle United in recent months after reports the Premier League club tabled a bid for the attacker in the last window.
Quizzed about Rodrigues’ future at Galatasaray, Ozcan said: “During the winter break, Schalke wanted to sign him but it was rejected as the club were pushing for the title. I think that stance could change at the end of the season. I am expecting bids from English clubs for around €20m.”
Newcastle United had a €8m offer turned down by the Turkish side in the last window, following their previous attempts to sign the player last summer.
This hasn’t deterred Newcastle in their pursuit of Rodrigues, and last month they sent a scout to the game between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.
It’s expected they’ll make another attempt to sign the attacker this summer, but are likely to face competition from West Ham United.
There have been recent reports the Hammers made an offer for the player, but this was rejected by Galatasaray.
