Even though Manchester United’s interest in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie was never a big thing in the summer window, we now see a couple of stories popping up about a potential chase this season.
Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo who featured a story about it today. With Barcelona interested in the 24-year-old, it was claimed the Red Devils could offer some competition for his signing.
Now we’re back seeing Kessie’s name pointed out by Calcio Mercato, this time in a different type of story.
It’s claimed that as Manchester United may lose Paul Pogba at the end of his contract in the summer, the Red Devils are already getting prepared in case they need a replacement for the Frenchman.
Kessie would be one of the names on the list, along with Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele. Both midfielders are said to be being ‘monitored’ by the Old Trafford side this season.
Just like Pogba’s, the Milan player’s contract expires at the end of the season as well. So Manchester United could lose a player for free and replace him without spending on a fee, although it needs to made clear they’re different types of midfielder.
