On Wednesday, the day after José Mourinho was announced as the new AS Roma manager from next season onwards, the Italian media went a bit crazy regarding the future of many players.
Among those, thanks to the close ties between José Mourinho and Jorge Mendes, his agent, was Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rui Patricio.
The goalkeeper position is one in need of dire work at Roma, and the Portuguese player, a client of the aforementioned representative, is among those that could be considered.
However, he isn’t the only one in Wolves’ squad Mourinho might end up looking at, as the right-back role could also do with some fresh blood.
Two names pop up, and one of those is Nélson Semedo, who only arrived at Molineux last September against a fee of £27m.
He has been almost ever-present under Nuno Espirito Santo, and is marked by Gazzetta dello Sport as ‘a name to follow’ on the transfer market as Mendes works his magic to try and please one of his favourite clients in Mourinho.
The newspaper once again mention Patricio as a possible target as well, making that two players who could be on their way to Rome if both the manager and his agent get their way.
