Fenerbahçe are ready to step up their interest in Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal claim Fanatik.
The Everton target will be a free agent at the end of the season and Fenerbahçe believe signing him on a free would be good business for the club given their problems with FFP.
Ghezzal turned down Everton’s offer last summer, but manager Ronald Koeman still remains keen on the player despite his poor form this season. A few days ago we covered reports from France that Everton offered the player £350k a month last summer to come to England, which will be hard to turn down.
However, Everton will have to act quickly to close a deal for the player due to Fenerbahce showing an interest in Ghezzal. Fanatik say after disappointing talks with Sunderland over signing Jeremain Lens, the Fenerbahçe board have now turned their attention to Ghezzal, and the Turkish club have already submitted an offer to the player’s agent.
The Lyon academy graduate has also been drawing attention from a host of Turkish Super League clubs, and Galatasaray could too look to move in on Ghezzal if Bruma leaves this summer.
It’s not too hard to imagine that Ghezzal would quite like Everton to telephone again, because he’s going to have problems matching their offer. However, Koeman doesn’t seem like the kind of manager who takes too kindly to such rejection.
