Tammy Abraham is attracting interest from AS Roma and Arsenal, and Chelsea are likely to let him leave, following Romelu Lukaku’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
On Wednesday, we relayed news from Italy the Serie A side’s sporting director, Tiago Pinto, travelled to London to hold talks with the Blues and the striker’s camp.
Thomas Tuchel’s side overcame Villarreal to clinch the UEFA Super Cup and the Blues’ commitment in Belfast meant Pinto couldn’t hold talks yesterday.
That’s according to Sky Italia, who add ‘it will be a decisive Thursday’ in the Giallorossi’s negotiations to sign the west London club’s player.
Pinto has ‘two decisive meetings’ scheduled today, one with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and the other with the 23-year-old’s agent, to try and close the deal.
José Mourinho’s side already have an agreement with the Blues, but the only concern for them is Abraham’s will, ‘given the interest of Arsenal’.
In today’s ‘decisive’ meeting, Pinto will try to convince the player to join Roma and in the event the frontman decides to pick Mikel Arteta’s side, the Italian capital club would then look at other alternatives.
As things stand, it’s possible the Gunners can beat Roma to Abraham and there’s likely to be more clarity on this case after Thursday’s meeting.
