Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Pierluigi Gollini and their interest to sign the Atalanta goalkeeper this summer ‘remains alive’, according to Sky Italia.
The Italian has two years left on his contract with the Serie A side and contacts are ‘underway’, most likely between La Dea and the north London club.
It’s claimed Spurs ‘work to find the right formula’ to secure a deal for the 26-year-old’s transfer.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side start with the loan deal, which could be extended for a further season with the inclusion of an obligation to buy. As per Sky, the Premier League club are looking to ‘seek total agreement’ for the custodian’s transfer.
Tottenham, however, must first sell before they bring the former Aston Villa man to the English capital club.
They currently have Hugo Lloris, Joe Hart and Alfie Whiteman as the three keepers in the squad and all three have entered the final year of their contracts.
One of the three should make way for the Atalanta keeper. According to Sky, Tottenham should first sell Hart and then ‘eventually close’ the deal for Gollini.
