Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club trying to take AS Roma defender Roger Ibanez to London, the Italian media says.

A story from outlet Roma Giallorossa today describes the fight for the centre-back that is going on in the English capital.

It’s well known that Roma director Tiago Pinto was in London last week. He wasn’t only working on signings, but on sales as well. Now it’s claimed that besides meeting Tottenham, the club chief also spoke to Chelsea and West Ham about Ibanez.

None of the clubs seem to be close to the transfer, since there are ‘no concrete offers on the horizon’, with Roma perhaps asking for too much when demanding between €30m and €35m.

Tottenham are reportedly ‘above all’ in this battle, but ‘not at that price’, as they plan to sign the defender for around €20m.

That’s why Pinto is said to be ‘hoping for a revival’ of Chelsea and West Ham, who could offer more. In the case of the Blues, there’s even a chance Ibanez could be involved in a deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek. But it all seems to be very unclear for now.
