A running theme of Galatasaray winger Bruma being linked to Tottenham Hotspur this season, is the player’s desire to be in the Premier League. The reports of Mauricio Pochettino interest have been building, and there were several from Turkey last week.
Well, he finally confirmed it in an interview with O Jogo on Thursday, in which he talks about his future in European football.
With four goals and three assists this season, the winger has been impressing in Turkey and that’s why his name is involved in so many rumours.
Asked about the recent rumours, Bruma said: “For now, I don’t think about the future. I have a contract with Galatasaray, I’m happy because everyone loves me here. The fans treat me well, sing my name, they already treat me like one of their sons… It’s already as if I was in Portugal.”
On the Premier League desire, the player admitted: “Yes, at the moment it is, because I’ve already played in Spain. I’d perfectly fit in English football.”
O Jogo have also asked Bruma if the €35m price set by Galatasaray would make things harder for a move out of the Turkish club.
It sounded more like the reporter was teasing to know if the price was true, but Bruma confirmed it: “Can’t run from that, that’s what the club want. If I am where I am, it’s a merit of my work, then they ask for more. What can I do? Only to work even more and grow.”
Sport Witness talked to Bruma’s agent Catio Baldé last week. Although the official confirmed the player’s wish to play in the Premier League, he said that no official contacts from English clubs have been made so far.
