It’s been a while since Tottenham have been linked with Sergej Milinković-Savić, but they are back in the mix, according to Il Romanista.
The outlet look at an article from Corriere dello Sport, which doesn’t name Spurs (we checked), and then add what appears to be some information of their own afterwards.
The gist of the original report is that despite the player’s contract at Lazio expiring in 2024, the club’s president, Claudio Lotito, won’t lower his demands for his star, even if he runs the risk of losing him on a free.
That seems like a bold move, especially when clubs with some financial pull, such as Tottenham and Arsenal are reportedly after him, alongside Juventus.
Il Romanista point out that ‘suitors aren’t lacking’, which is when they name Tottenham as one of the Premier League teams keeping an eye on the 28-year-old’s situation.
This means this summer is the perfect time for Daniel Levy to strike, and there could be a great deal to be done in the coming months.
The previous reports of Spurs being keen on Milinković-Savić came when Antonio Conte was in charge, but with that part of the London club’s history now over, it remains to be seen if the next manager would be as keen on the Serbian as his predecessor.
