Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Barcelona midfielder Frank Kessie is again highlighted by the Catalan media today.

Newspaper Sport feature a story claiming Spurs are ‘serious’ about the signing.

The outlet explains that Tottenham will decide next week whether to make the attempt to sign Kessie. That’s when the player will have returned from pre-season in the United States.

Even though Juventus are said to be ‘firm’ with their offer, it’s believed that Spurs’ effort could change the whole scenario now.

Tottenham’s advantage is clear because the Bianconeri only want the player on a loan with an option to buy. Barcelona’s request is just €15m, so if the London side pay the price, there isn’t a lot to discuss. Plus there’s also the fact that the midfielder isn’t keen to return to Italy.

Kessie reportedly understood he’ll have a secondary role in Barça’s squad this season, and is now convinced that the ‘best option’ for him this summer is to move to a new club.

Sport claim that the operation for the Ivorian may depend on Harry Kane’s sale, which feels like their assumption rather than anything else.
