Tottenham goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini ‘wants to return’ to Italy this summer rather than stay in London.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Fiorentina.it, who say he could be offered a move by Torino.
They explain that Gollini wants to return to Italy this summer after spending the season on loan at Tottenham from Atalanta.
He had arrived under former Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo to provide competition to Hugo Lloris but has been unable to oust the Frenchman this year, with just ten appearances to his name so far.
None of those have been in the Premier League, and it’s left Gollini eyeing a return to his homeland and regular playing time, despite claims Tottenham might extend his stay.
He’s unlikely to get that in Bergamo with Atalanta and so could be moved on to Torino, who would be more than happy to take him and give him the playing time he wants.
Indeed, Atalanta may even be willing to sanction another loan deal to make that happen, were it to include an obligation to buy at the end of it.
That’s something that will need to be worked out, but one thing appears to be more and more certain, and that’s that Gollini will not be staying at Tottenham this summer.
