After scoring two goals against Manchester United at Old Trafford, it’s no surprise that Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Moura is the man of the moment.

The Brazilian wasn’t only highlighted by the English press after the Spurs’ win, but also got a lot of attention from his home country’s media.

Lucas has spoken to ESPN Brasil in an interview we’ve covered earlier today, and later was interviewed by channel Sportv as well.

The player spoke about his path to joining Tottenham earlier this year, and claimed that he lived some hard times at Paris Saint Germain before making the move. “It was very hard, the worst seven months of my life,” he says.

“I came from a very good season, I was second top scorer of the team, only behind Cavani… The following season, I wasn’t even called up. I used to go to practice, I wasn’t even in the game. I used to go back home… Anyway, it was very difficult. But I kept working hard, strong. And God gave me the best gift of life, my son.”

“I knew there was something prepared for me. When the opportunity to come to Tottenham in January showed up, I was very happy, excited with the opportunity to play the Premier League, go to a great club. I did not think twice.”

Regarding the itensity in the Premier League, Moura claims that even though he was adapted to European football, he felt the diference: “We only have a clue when we’re watching. When I started playing here I saw that it really is very competitive, very dynamic. Work here is very hard.”

“I have grown a lot in this physical part, added that in my game. The game is here and there. In France, it’s a little more physical strength, not as intense as here. This is doing me very well, it is improving my game. I’ve grown a lot, evolving a lot.”

“Everyone told me that my football is similar to the Premier League, that here I would get along very well. I’ve been through it. But it’s just the beginning.”

Lucas Moura sounds like he’s on top of the world, which is great news for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur.
