Tottenham Hotspur’s new star Lucas Moura has spoken to ESPN Brasil after the 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last night.

The Brazilian, who was selected as Man of the Match, couldn’t hide that this was one of the most special nights in his career.

“No doubt, no doubt it’s a great night. And I want to share this award with my teammates. We had a great game, we worked really hard,” Lucas told ESPN Brasil. “We knew it would be very difficult to play here with one of the biggest teams in the world, it’s not easy. And we managed to do a great job.”

“I’m very happy for this moment, to help my team with two goals. As I said, to share with my teammates, because it was hard work during the week, we prepared very well for this game and I think we deserved that victory.”

Asked by reporter João Castelo Branco about the team’s change at half time, as the game was still tied, Lucas claimed that Mauricio Pochettino only did some minor adjustments in the team.

“I think we did a great first half. We just adjusted some details in the half time, which the manager asked defensively, and continued to make the moves in front. And I think we were awarded in the second half with three goals.

“We worked very hard, we were able to neutralise their moves. It was a great teamwork tonight. We knew, as I said, that it was going to be difficult. But we are also very strong, our team has a lot of quality too. When we work hard as we worked today, it’s difficult to play against us.”

About the feeling of having such a decisive performance at Old Trafford, Lucas said: “Man, you can’t explain it. Only those who have already done this can feel this emotion. It’s a great night, as I said, to play here, at Old Trafford, against Manchester United, score two goals and win the game, I have no words to explain.”

“Just to thank God, to share with my teammates, to offer my family that surely is watching me both here at home and in Brazil as well. I am very happy, it’s a great moment, to thank God all the time, and to continue working because there is much more ahead.”
