On June 24th, Calciomercato explained West Ham United tabled a ‘first offer’ for Nikola Milenković and this proposal was ‘still far from’ Fiorentina’s demands.
Violanews.com now claim the Hammers’ offer has been rejected by the Serie A side and a new track leading to London, specifically to Tottenham Hotspur, is ‘opening up’.
It’s claimed Spurs chief Fabio Paratici has ‘initiated the first contact’ with the defender’s agent, Fali Ramadani.
Clubs in Italy have also looked at the Serbia international, who has less than 12 months left on his contract.
According to the report, the 23-year-old is ‘destined to leave’ Fiorentina in the summer and a move to the Premier League ‘looks like the most viable route’ at the moment because the interest from Serie A has gone cold.
Fiorentina are aware the summer window is the last big opportunity for them to make cash and therefore, ‘will try to monetise’ as much as possible, without moving a lot away from their initial demand of €25m.
Tottenham have initiated contact with the player’s agent and with Milenković ‘destined to leave’ Fiorentina this summer, it’ll be interesting to see if Spurs can convince him to join them.
