Following all the recent stories regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Benfica striker Haris Seferovic, we now get to see Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claiming something could happen pretty soon.
According to the outlet, Spurs have already been ‘informed’ about the player and ‘got the guarantee’ that he has an open door for a Premier League move.
O Jogo claims that despite the informal contacts, no concrete offers were made so far, as the London side are currently preparing themselves, and the first bid could be made this week.
They also highlight that other clubs such as Everton and West Ham are in the competition for the 29-year-old as well.
Even though other outlets such as Record had been claiming that Seferovic would only leave Benfica for at least €25m, O Jogo now comes up saying there’s the possibility the Eagles will accept a little less than that, mostly because the transfer market is still recovering from the pandemic issues.
Following his 26 goals for Benfica this season, Seferovic also managed to score three goals at the Euros, including a brace against France. That’s why the Portuguese media isn’t surprised that Tottenham are coming for him.
