On July 2nd, Fichajes.net reported that Rafael Benítez has requested Everton to sign Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The same outlet are now claiming the Brazilian has rejected the possibility of joining the Toffees because he believes this diminishes his chances of getting back to the national team.

Maybe he’s unaware Richarlison exists.

Anyway, Coutinho’s rejection has seen Everton make Isco their ‘new target’.

Benítez wants to strengthen his new side’s attacking midfield position, taking into account James Rodríguez’s future could be away from the Merseyside club.

Therefore, the former Liverpool manager ‘wants to sign’ the Spaniard for the Premier League side.

Isco, for his part, doesn’t want to continue with Los Blancos and Carlo Ancelotti isn’t considering including the former Malaga star in his plans at the Bernabéu next season.

Considering these factors, Isco changing clubs this summer seems to be the ‘best option’ for both him and Real Madrid. A switch to England will help the 29-year-old more than if he decides to join a club like Sevilla, who have an interest in him.

As with Coutinho, Fichajes.net, for now, have not taken into account Isco’s desire to regain his place in the national team, and joining a Champions League club would improve his chances more than moving to Everton.
