Reportedly interested in Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen, Tottenham are going to have to act fast if they don’t want to be trumped to his signing by Inter.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Luciano Spalletti’s side have ‘decided to accelerate’ on the matter, knowing they might have the advantage because of their ‘optimal’ relationship with their fellow Serie A side following the Milan Skriniar deal.
Tottenham are mentioned in the story, as they and Juventus are claimed to have asked for information regarding the centre-back, knowing they are likely to lose Toby Alderweireld in the summer, with or without his extension being triggered.
However, they won’t be able to do anything in January because of their FFP Settlement Agreement, which could leave the door open for Spurs in the next couple of months.
Having failed to spend any money in the summer window, it would be a surprise if Tottenham didn’t at least bring one reinforcement in during the next transfer period.
As for the price, Andersen would most likely cost somewhere around €30m, according to Corriere dello Sport, which Inter want to try and lower by inserting a player (most likely Facundo Colidio) in the deal.
This comes a couple of days after Primocanale reported Tottenham were ‘ready to enter the tussle’ to sign the Danish defender.
Chop chop, Mr Levy.
