On November 7th, we carried a report from Marca, who claimed that Liverpool have offered Alberto Moreno to Sevilla in January and the left-back dreams of rejoining his former club.

Another Spanish outlet El Desmarque now claims the Andalusian club will face competition in signing the 26-year-old as Atletico Madrid are also watching the defender’s situation at Anfield.

His contract with the Merseyside club runs down at the end of the season and the report mentions it is ‘practically impossible’ for the player to extend his stay with the Reds beyond 2019.

It’s claimed the Spaniard’s contract situation, coupled with his experience of playing with Sevilla and Liverpool makes him an ‘attractive player’.

So far, neither of the above mentioned clubs would require a new left-back as Sevilla have Guilherme Arana and Sergio Escudero, while the Europa League winners have Filipe Luis and with Lucas Hernández in the same position.

Moreno’s situation, his age and his association with the club in the past could make his signing for Sevilla attractive.

Atletico, on the other hand, may need to find a replacement for Luis, whose contract expires in 2019 and he could be one of options for them next summer since he will be available as a free agent.
