Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Abdulkadir Omur is being tracked by Spanish giants Barcelona, claim HaberTurk.
Omur has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks with Tottenham one of the clubs reportedly showing an interest.
According to HaberTurk Barcelona officials have contacted Trabzonspor about signing the highly rated youngster, who’s been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’.
The Turkish website say Trabzonspor are looking for a transfer fee in the region of €30m for Omur, but there’s no reports whether Barcelona are ready to make a bid for the 18 year old.
Last month we covered reports from the Turkish press that Tottenham are keen on Omur and that they’ve made an offer for the player. Turkish journalist Erdal Hos said Tottenham are interested in and have approached the Turkish club with a ‘concrete offer’.
Along with Barcelona, it’s believed Spurs could face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Omur is under contract with Trabzonspor until 2022.
There’s nothing about this in the Catalan media, and you can bet your life Barcelona won’t be paying €30m for Abdulkadir Omur in the foreseeable future.
Tottenham interest, and that of other clubs, may well be pushed to hype the player and create the idea of a big transfer fee being fitting. If the Spurs link was questionable to begin with, it’s even shakier now.
