Turkish journalist Erdal Hos, who is known for his close ties with Trabzonspor, has claimed the English club which made an offer for Abdulkadir Omur is Tottenham Hotspur.
Former Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta recently confirmed he held talks with an unnamed English club during his final days as the Turkish side’s president. Usta, who left the job over the past couple of weeks, had spoken of an offer being made, which was rejected.
Quizzed about the Tottenham bid for Omur by Turkish TV Channel TVNet, Hos said: “There is a concrete offer.”
The 18 year old has made a breakthrough this season and his performances have caught the eye of Tottenham scouts as well as other clubs.
Nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’, the left-footed winger has scored 3 goals this season and made 5 assists. Omur is under contract with Trabzonspor until 2022.
Tottenham won’t want to make the same mistake they did last summer when they missed out on Cengiz Under. The Turkey international joined AS Roma despite strong interest from Spurs, and has since gone on to impress in Serie A.
