Tottenham have been in contact with Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie about a move in the January transfer window.

That’s according to journalist Niccolò Ceccarini, who says the situation is ‘still evolving’ about a potential transfer.

McKennie has been linked with a move away from Juventus for the last few months, with it felt he doesn’t fit under manager Max Allegri.

A move to the Premier League was mooted throughout the summer transfer window, and Tottenham were one of those linked.

A move never happened, but he has struggled at Juventus since the start of the season, failing to fit in under Allegri as many had expected.

That’s opened up the door for a move away in January, particularly as Juventus eye up a move for a new midfielder like Aurelien Tchouameni or even Paul Pogba.

That could give Tottenham another shot at the American, and Ceccarini says talks have been held with Spurs already.

“Another solution could be to sell McKennie,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Tottenham have made contact with him, but they haven’t gone into detail yet.

“In short, the situation is still evolving, but the feeling is that the Bianconeri club will do everything to give Allegri a purchase of the highest level.”
