Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in AS Roma defender Roger Ibañez is suddenly gaining strength in the Italian media.

On Thursday morning, it was outlet Forza Roma who featured a story claiming the player is back on Spurs’ agenda.

There it was claimed that Tottenham had ‘knocked on the door’ again, and Roma continue to demand €35-40m for the sale.

It turns out now it’s time for Calcio Mercato to highlight that interest, claiming that following interest from last summer, their chase was only ‘postponed’.

Spurs remain in the race ‘regardless of Conte’, and that shows how strong the interest in, given the uncertainty of the manager’s future of the club.

Besides Tottenham, it’s said West Ham could also be lining up to compete for this signing.

Regarding the price to sign Ibañez, the claims are very similar to those from Forza Roma, with Calcio Mercato saying the Giallorossi have ‘high’ demands to only let him go for €35m.

The Italian club may be forced to make sales because of Financial Fair Play, and it seems Tottenham could help them with that.
