Yan Couto hasn’t yet made an appearance for Manchester City since joining them from Brazilian side Coritiba in 2020.
The right-back has been sent out on loan and is currently at Girona, where he has starred this season, managing two goals and 10 assists from 36 games.
Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states the 21-year-old will return to Manchester City at the end of this season and his future at the Etihad needs to be clarified.
The Spanish club are currently third in the table, ahead of Atlético Madrid, and will play in the Champions League next season. Their aim is to retain the majority of the squad but it will certainly be complicated.
This is when they discuss the Brazilian, who has been one of the standout players for the La Liga side.
Couto’s contract with the Citizens lasts until 2025 and it’s not clear where he will play next season. It’s explained that he’s waiting to meet Pep Guardiola’s side and his agents, to know more about his future.
Mundo further add the Manchester City man has a market and ‘will also have juicy offers’ from clubs that can offer him Champions League football. There’s no mention of the clubs who would offer proposals to him.
Recent claims have talked about Real Madrid’s interest and earlier this month, Couto didn’t close the door on joining Los Blancos.
