Tottenham Hotspur want to ‘take over the services’ of Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer.
That’s according to Marca, who state the La Liga side have put the goalkeeper on the market. Los Ches manager José Bordalás has publicly stated the club need to raise €70m to balance their books.
A week ago, Manchester United were named as the custodian’s suitor, but Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to join the race to acquire the 21-year-old’s services.
The Georgia international joined the La Liga side from Dinamo Tbilisi in 2021 and finished his debut season in Spain with 23 appearances in all competitions, where he kept 10 clean sheets and conceded 24 goals in the process.
Tottenham Hotspur share a good relationship with the Spanish club after allowing Bryan Gil to spend the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Mestalla.
Hugo Lloris is the first-choice keeper and has two more years left on his deal. Spurs are ‘already thinking of a future replacement’ of the 35-year-old and identified Mamardashvili as the target.
Marca make it clear that Tottenham [or any other club] have not made an offer so far for the keeper, but Mamardashvili’s sale would help Valencia improve their financial situation.
