Following initial reports from the Portuguese media about Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Porto star Pepê, it’s now time for the Brazilian press to back up that chase.
UOL today feature a piece highlighting the fight for the 26-year-old, claiming that the ‘dispute’ could lead to a €75m transfer.
It’s said that last week, Pepê’s staff had ‘meetings with the interested’ clubs and shall now head back to Porto to speak about the negotiations.
The Brazilian is protected by a €75m release clause, and that’s the exact amount the Dragons use as a price tag.
It isn’t made clear whether it’s Tottenham or PSG who are willing to get closer to that amount, and it’s actually said Saudi side Al Hilal are interested in the signing as well.
Pepê made 55 appearances for Porto last season, playing both as a winger and as a fullback, and that’s why the club feel he’s so important.
